Classic design is always in style. That's just one of the reasons I've stuck with my Filofax organizer rather than go digital. Another reason: I prefer writing down my appointments and flipping through my day planner to see what lies ahead.
There's just something about putting pen to paper that satisfies me and helps me feel organized. Yes, it's a date, I'll pen you in. I also like having a small notepad for times I need to make a "to do" list or leave a note for someone when I'm out and about, running errands. It's also handy to have a short-list address book in the same binder as my calendar so I can quickly find phone numbers or just have essential addresses on hand for postcards when I'm traveling.
I've been a fan of Filofax planners since I received one as a gift almost 20 years ago. The leather used for the Lyndhurst Mini is gorgeous and ultra refined, the styling elegant, and the "mini" size (4 5/8" x 3 5/8" with five 7/16" rings) makes it completely portable. It's easy to toss into another bag or a brief case, or even slip into my jacket pocket. The zippered Lyndhurst is also available in larger sizes, but I really like the small size because I travel light. (BTW, I still have my old Filofax, and it's still in great shape considering the beating it's taken under my care.)

The planner zips closed, so the insides stay crisp no matter how bumpy the ride. I like that I can stash business cards or credit cards into three card slots and two full-length flat sleeves (one on the inside of each flap). There's also a pen holder inside the organizer, although I haven't yet found a mini pen I want for my Lyndhurst. The discreet, flat sleeve on the front of the organizer is ideal for stashing parking lots stubs.

Another thing I like about the Filofax Lyndhurst Mini Organizer is the value. I know from experience that the leather holds up very well, as do the rings. Each year, I just replace the planning pages. At under $6 for new calendar, it's a great deal. Filofax also sells a variety of accessories, including a mini pen, a mini pencil, an envelop insert, and lined notebook pages.
